PVX: ELISA tested for PVX. Meets recommended tolerances set forth in the Rules for Seed Potato Certification
Generation 1: PVX Generation 1 (PVX G1)
Generation 2: PVX Generation 2 (PVX G2)
Generation 3 & 4 testing for PVX is optional.
PVY: ELISA tested for PVY. Meets recommended tolerances set forth in the Rules for Seed Potato Certification.
Generation 1: PVY Generation 1 (PVY G1)
Generation 2: PVY Generation 2 (PVY G2)
Generation 3 & 4 testing for PVY is optional.
PVX/PVY: ELISA tested for both PVX and PVY. Meets disease tolerances set forth in the Rules for Seed Potato Certification.
Montana Certified Seed Potato Grade Standards
Beginning in 1985, only blue tags and red tags can be used. Tag color indicates only seed grade, not seed class.
Montana Blue Tag (Grade) Equivalent of the U.S. No. 1 grade standard with the exceptions as noted in Rules and Regulations, Section 12, 4.12.3503.
Montana Red Tag (Grade) Equivalent of the U.S. No. 2 grade standard with the exceptions as noted in Rules and Regulations, Section 12, 4.12.3504.
Field conditions other than disease that appeared unusual or abnormal, but failed to interfere with proper field inspection by the Field Inspector, are recorded on the grower's field inspection form(s), but are not listed in this directory.

no insp: No Inspection
Mandatory testing for PVX and PVY is required for all Meristem, Nuclear, G1 and G2 seed.
